Surrounded by the Sierra Nevada range to the west and the White Mountains to the east, the Owens River Valley stretches almost 80 miles through the heart of California. Some of the tallest mountains in the country, a desert of granite and cacti, a twisting river, and the iconic Sierra Wave cloud formations make this a goldmine for landscape photography. After a recent scouting trip, I have discovered several hidden bends in the river, fresh new angles in the Alabama Hills, great locations for drone photography, and much more. The icing on the cake? We'll be there as the fall color starts to glow!
Over 7 days we'll cover almost the entire length of this beautiful piece of the planet... described by legendary nature photographer, Galen Rowell, as The Range of Light. This is a camping based trip and will allow us to be more mobile, bond a little more, and make fun new memories together with our small group. If camping is not your style, you are definitely free to book our own lodging in Lone Pine or Bishop, California.
